The evolution of birthing
Traditional birthworkers, prior to being overtaken by GOV/PHARM, was a natural, healthy, effective path to bring new life into the world.
Before the intrusion of “mid-men” and male dominated medical colleges, birthworkers, mother’s, and grannie’s, were skillfully and successfully assisting free birthing mothers in labour and delivery, even in situations that today's practices would deem “high risk”.
The notion of necessity for hospitalized births to ensure life safety, was conceived by GOV/PHARM as they hostilely superimposed the midwifery practice, banning females from their newly “regulated” medical, male only institutions. As the patriarchal movement robustly continued, western population became conditioned to the belief, based solely upon studies and statistics provided by the newly evolved medicalized perspective.
The truth, as we now discover, is that medical intervention is greatly appreciated and useful in only the extremely rare situation, but not necessary for natural births. Delving deeper into truth, medical intervention during both pregnancy and birthing is the leading cause of cesarean sections and high risk events.

*Note; Borsa Doulas are unlegislated (as are all Doulas), therefore, in the event that a licensed Midwife does not make it in time for delivery, a Borsa Doula can not register baby as would a government licensed midwife or hospital. Newborns can be registered in office or online at Service Ontario. Your Borsa Doula will provide information, if necessary.
